Get Flat Abs

It's the never ending quest for men and women alike. Everyone wants to get flat abs and they want them immediately. If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times, you didn't put the weight on overnight and you're not going to lose it immediately either. But you do need to start taking some steps to get in shape, improve the shape of your abs and your entire body overall. How should you get started? Ah, now that's the question of the year.

Mom was right when she was always telling you to stand up straight and stop slouching. When you slouch, out goes the belly and to be honest, it's just not very attractive. Stand straight, aligning your shoulders so that they are over your hips, kind of like a shirt when you put it on a hanger. Suck in your belly button to your spine to also improve your posture. So, without ever even breaking a sweat, you've done your abs and midsection a big favor.

A flat abs exercise known as the "cat kick" is a great flat abs workout. What you're going to do is stand with your feet together and spread your arms out like an airplane's wings. Take a deep breath and lift your right leg forward and up. As you're doing this, bring your arms at shoulder level around and round your back like a cat. Your belly button should feel like it's pressing inward towards the spine. Take another deep breath at you open back up and return to the position you began in. Do this again with the left leg for a repetition of 20.

While gym memberships are nice and they give you a dedicated time to be working out, it's not always necessary to achieve those flat abs for women. Think how much time you spend just standing around, at the grocery store, the post office or while you're cooking dinner. At those times, get your abs engaged as you stand straight and inhale, drawing the navel inwards to the spine. Base your goals for flat abs fast more realistically and think how your body reacts to exercise. Remember, there is no prize for getting the abs the fastest only the end result that will make you proud of your body today and in the future.

Keep in mind that aerobic exercises are going to be the best initial exercises to get rid of the fat on top of your abs. After you have dropped the weight you need, then you can start on the crunches and other balance exercises that will help firm up the belly area. To have truly strong abs, you need to combine aerobic exercise, nutrition and a core area strengthening program.  While there is ab flattening equipment you can buy, a good start will include the above mentioned big three. 

Abs like Beyonce or Jessica Alba's don't come easily or quickly. With the help of their trainers, they're able to achieve a pristine body. With exercise and nutrition, you can too, but know that they didn't do it overnight and you won't either. Make it a goal for the coming year and when next year rolls around, you'll be able to look back at a year of accomplishment.
